The site of a turquoise waterfall falling 200 feet over desert canyon walls is a truly unique and awe-inspiring site
Though Mooney Falls in the Grand Canyon is 100 feet taller than its more popular waterfall upstream, Havasu Falls, it is much less visited being farther up the trail and having a rather adventurous trail descending to the bottom of it. Mooney Falls drops over a cliff at roughly 200 feet high as Havasu Creek rushes its way toward the Colorado River. The falls lie at the north end of the campground as the main trail continues through the campground and down a cliff through small caves with steep steps and several ladders and chains to hang on to as you make your way down the cliff to the base of the falls.
