jewish museum in athens
the greek jews were almost entirely wiped out during the holocaust, so the objects, clothing, and photographs in this museum represent a culture that has been all but lost to world outside the museum walls. these sephardic jews have a culture very heavily influenced by the ottomans. the beautiful clothing seems to be especially influenced by middle eastern and north african styles.
