Bass Lake is a nice lake near the town of Holly Springs, just south of Raleigh, NC. It is a new addition to the Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department public parks and can be rented for a relatively small fee for a wedding or other event. The name isn't too romantic, but the gazebo and reception hall make up for it. It also is highlighted by a long verandah overlooking the lake with rocking chairs for relaxation. Even if the worst happens, and the weather does not cooperate, there are options with a roof for protection. Come get married.

Some people go to a lake to fish, but it is also a soothing setting in which to enjoy a good read. The combination of a book and water makes each even more nurturing.
