Looking towards Killarney, from the top of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain.
A view from Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain at 1038 m. It is the central peak of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks range, located west of Killarney in County Kerry. Views from the peak are spectacular, and the climb is not too difficult - I used the Coomloughra Horseshoe approach, and climbed Beenkeragh first, then crossed to Carrauntoohil, and descended via Caher. This climb encompases the three highest peaks in Irealnd, and requires about 8 hours of moderately strenuous hill climbing.
