This is the place where gold was discovered in California which started the gold rush eventually leading to California's statehood. It is located in a very small town called Coloma and has many historical buildings and landmarks. It's a wonderful place to take the family, have a picnic, take a hike through the hills or wander around the various historical landmarks.
