The Charles was very calm and I have no doubt the rowers appreciated it.
It is October and rowers from all over the world are migrating to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the Head of the Charles Regatta. The week running up to the regatta is a busy week on the river. While the city is hitting the snooze button one last time, rowers are practicing their stroke at 6am. "Why?" you understandably wonder. Well, beyond the perfect stroke, rowers are frequently rewarded with a sublime dawn. A sunrise that, for many, would be justification enough.
