The schoolhouse with a masonic hall on the second floor in Bannack Montana. This is one of the best ghost towns in Montana, just well preserved enough to feel like it did without any of the fancied up fakeness of a lot of "restored" ghost towns.

    Growing up in Dillon, MT, I have several fond memories of Bannack. From the Old Bannack Days to standing near the gallows area and think of Henry Plummer's famous last words, "Stop it! You're choking me!" This place can send send anyone spiraling back to their childhood dreams of the old west and the vigilantes of the gold rush era.
