There are several impressive Royal Tombs around Hue from the Nguyen dynasty. This series of three gates is at the tomb of Minh Mang and is the entrance to the Honor Courtyard where animals were sacrificed.
The tomb of Khai Dinh near Hue was built between 1920 and 1931. It is a concrete goliath built into a hillside and is one of my favorite tombs of the Nguyen Dynasty.

There are several impressive Royal Tombs around Hue from the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945). You can rent a motorbike in Hue to venture the 2-16km to see them as they are spread around the banks of the Perfume River.
