   Thom Mayne's new San Francisco Federal Building is not only architecturally pleasing but is extremely energy efficient and follows the green trend that has hit this city hard in the past few years. The building has built in shading system so workers can use sunlight instead of electric lights, it's also designed to consume about half the power of a standard office tower.
