The Bastille monument stands at the site of the former prison, signifying the start of the French Revolution.
Underneath the gargantuan structure. The queues going up were too long, so I decided to skip it.
Paris Catacombs are eerie, dark, claustophobic, but interesting. Many of these bones were moved to the Catacombs during a health epidemic in the 18th Century.
We stayed next to the Jardin du Luxembourg on the Left Bank, between the Latin Quarter and St. Germain de Pres.
