One of the highlights of my last trip to New York was the couple of hours i spent at the zoo. Yeah, you can go shopping, and i guess you could go to the Met, but i've done that on other trips, so on a whim i went by myself to the zoo, and i'm really glad i did.
It's not a very big zoo, but it's well laid out, it was fully remodeled in the 1980's, and they have a few of my favorite animals, polar bears, red pandas, and my personal favorite, otters.
The Toledo Zoo is a must see attraction for anyone in or around the Toledo, Ohio area. There are many exhibits including the African Savanna and Arctic Encounters exhibit featuring 2 new polar bear cubs!
Oaxaca is one of the largest and poorest states of Mexico, however one of the most colorful and creative in the form of folk art known as Oaxacan Wood Carvings. The wood carvings are called Alebrijes, and are carved by the Zapotec Indians.
Every Sunday morning from 5:00am to 10:00am, people from all over north-eastern Kyrgyzstan flock to Karakol with their livestock to participate in the Karakol Animal Bazaar. The bazaar is filled with sheep, cows, goats, horses and hagglers, and it is quite a site to see.
El Dorado Park, and El Dorado Park Nature Center is a place where family can go picnicking, or a couple, or just friends who wants to gather and meet up, to set a stroll around in the park or the Nature Center (wild life sanctuary).
It has various species in the Nature Center, ranging from Great Egrets, Coyotes, Owls, Rabbits, Squirrels, to Monarch Butterflies if seeing them in the right season.
Sometimes if the day is just right, the right brisk of ice-cold weather, you can see some residue on the wild flowers. Somedays the man made lake, and stream you'll be able to see the purest stillness in the water, to create mirror-like scenery.
