   Isolated Beach

   Although one typically thinks of the Galapagos as a haven for Darwin's finches and giant tortoises, there are now 40,000 people living on the islands. Despite the large population, it is still a place where you can find yourself on a deserted beach.

   Galápagos

   The Galápagos Islands are an archipelago of volcanic islands located about 600 miles off west of Ecuador. They are known throughout the world as the home to Darwin's finches and the famed Galápagos tortoises, as well as being called The Enchanted Islands as a result of their strong and unpredictable currents.
   
   Owned by Ecuador, 90% of the Galápagos Islands were established as a National Park in 1959.
