    Located at the intersection of Hayes and Octavia streets in San Francisco, Patricia's Green is a pleasant little neighborhood park with a twist: it is home to short-term art installations of the type that stop traffic.

    At the time of this writing, Michael Christian's Burning Man sculpture, "Koilos", was in place (and will be until sometime in October 2008).

  2. Cheddar Gorge

    Cheddar Gorge is the largest gorge in the United Kingdom near the village of Cheddar in the Mendip Hills in Somerset, England. The gorge is the site of the Cheddar Caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be 9,000 years old, was found in 1903.

    Apart from that it is a beautiful place to visit - a bit touristy but with a couple of gorgeous views.

  7. National Park of "Ordesa y Monte Perdido"

    The National Park of "Ordesa y Monte Perdido" is situated in the Spanish side of the Pyrenees at Huesca, Aragón.
    Declared a National Park in 1918 by a Royal Decree, this IUCN Category II National Park becomes every year meeting point for mountaineers and
    families around Europe and even overseas.
    Today it has 156 km² and it's included in the Biosphere Reserve of "Ordesa-Viñamala" declared by UNESCO in 1997.

    Its orography is dominated by the calcareous mass (the biggest of Europe) of the massiff of the Three "Sorores", "Treserols", whose greater elevation is the "Monte Perdido" (3355m), from which in a more or less radial form descend a series of impressive mountainous crests and glacial valleys beeing the most characteristic the "Ordesa Canyon (or Valley)".

    In the French territory it's called "Pyrenees" National Park and it shares with Spain wonderful places like the "Circus of Gavarnie" (a glacial cirque with the highest waterfall in Europe with more than 400 meters of vertical fall) or the impressive "Brecha de Rolando -Brèche de Roland in french-" a natural gap, 40m across and 100m high at an altitude of 2804m.

    Located less then an hour outside of Karakol near the small village of Jeti Oguz is the Valley of the Flowers. The best time to visit is during late May and June.

    Along a five kilometer section on the Bow Valley Parkway a prescribed burn, started by Parks Canada in 1993, can be seen.
