  1. Powell's City of Books

    Probably the largest new and used book store in the world, Powells is a book lovers paradise. With 3 floors and 7 different rooms, the city of books requires a map to find your way around.

  2. Yaquina Head Lighthouse

    The 93 foot tower, Oregon's tallest, is located on a narrow point of land jutting due west into the Pacific Ocean north of Newport, at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. Winds and rain have buffeted this lighthouse since its beginning in 1872.

Towns on that route have all the cheap t-shirts you could want, but my favorite places in Oregon are off of a road less traveled.

    Cape Kiwanda is located just outside Pacific City and is the southern most cape in the three capes scenic route. It is a popular location for surfers, wakeboarders, and beachcombers.

    The Astor Column is an Astoria icon, towering 125’ above this historical and scenic little town. You will wind around the roads with gorgeous scenery to Coxcomb Hill.
